Terms of Service
Section titled “Terms of Service”1. The service
Section titled “1. The service”DocJet (“the service”) is an HTTP API that renders PDF documents and PNG images from templates or customer-supplied HTML. The service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uptime in v1.
2. Accounts and API keys
Section titled “2. Accounts and API keys”An API key is issued per email address via POST /v1/signup. You are responsible for keeping your key secret (the public demo key excepted — it is intentionally public and rate-limited). We may revoke keys that violate these terms.
3. Acceptable use
Section titled “3. Acceptable use”You may not use the service to: render unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive documents; attempt to access other customers’ data or outputs; probe, overload or disrupt the service; or resell raw API access without adding your own product value. Rate limits and quotas per plan are enforced technically and are part of these terms.
4. Billing and payments
Section titled “4. Billing and payments”Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe Checkout. Plans are month-to-month; you can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the paid period. Quota and rate-limit values per plan are listed on the pricing page.
5. Taxes — read this
Section titled “5. Taxes — read this”Payments are processed by Stripe on behalf of the DocJet operator (a Hong Kong-registered Stripe account). The DocJet operator is not a merchant of record for your jurisdiction and does not collect, remit, or advise on VAT, GST, sales tax or any other transaction tax on your behalf. Prices are exclusive of any applicable taxes. You are responsible for determining and handling the tax treatment of your DocJet purchases under your own jurisdiction’s rules (for example, EU businesses may need to self-assess VAT under the reverse-charge mechanism — consult your accountant). We make no promises and provide no tax documentation beyond the standard Stripe receipt.
6. Your content
Section titled “6. Your content”You retain all rights to the data and HTML you send and the documents you generate. You grant us the technical right to process that content solely to render and deliver your documents. Generated outputs are stored temporarily behind signed, expiring URLs and are automatically deleted after expiry.
7. Liability
Section titled “7. Liability”To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service’s total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the month the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including losses caused by rendered document content or delivery delays.
8. Changes
Section titled “8. Changes”We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on this page with an updated date. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
Privacy Policy
Section titled “Privacy Policy”What we collect
Section titled “What we collect”- Account data: the email address you sign up with, your API key hash (never the plaintext key), and your plan/subscription state.
- Usage data: render counts, request timestamps, job metadata (template ID, output size, duration) — needed for metering, quotas and abuse prevention.
- Render content: the data and HTML you submit is processed in memory to render your document and is not used for anything else. Generated outputs are retained only until their signed URL expires, then deleted.
What we do NOT do
Section titled “What we do NOT do”- No analytics or tracking scripts on this site — no cookies, no fingerprinting, no third-party trackers.
- No selling or sharing of your data with third parties.
- No training of any models on your content.
Third parties
Section titled “Third parties”- Stripe processes payments; your card details never touch our servers. Stripe’s own privacy policy applies to payment data.
Data requests and deletion
Section titled “Data requests and deletion”Email support@docjet.dev to request export or deletion of your account data. Deletion removes your key, usage records, and subscription linkage; legally required billing records held by Stripe follow Stripe’s retention rules.
